A False Prophecy Can Get You Killed [Western Fantasy]

The story of The Sacred Emperor is about a prince who overcomes countless hardships, finally seizes power, becomes the Sacred Emperor, defeats the evil wizard, and spreads the blessings of the gods across the continent.

Xie Yi transmigrates into the wizard who abused the prince and was eventually brutally avenged by him.

When he opens his eyes, the prince is kneeling before him.

"He" has been testing medicine on the prince for six months.

He's too late. The grudge has already been formed.

As it happens, the original owner is also a fraud with little power.

To leave in a way that makes sense and avoid arousing suspicion among the other wizards, Xie Yi does two things.

First, he fabricates a false prophecy that "Prince Sestitus will become the husband of Wizard Xie Yi." This explains why he isn't staying in his own wizard tower, why he has gone incognito to a remote little kingdom, and why he has been tormenting its prince.

Second, he uses the protagonist as a prop and plants a vivid illusion in his mind: "The wizard was forced by the prince all night." That gives him a convenient excuse to leave.

After doing all this, he immediately leaves the palace and returns to his wizard tower to study diligently, determined to grow stronger and protect himself.

Sestitus learns that the wizard who had delighted in tormenting him has fled the palace in a panic.

The memory of the wizard, always so haughty, pinned beneath him, struggling helplessly and weeping until the corners of his eyes turned red, is still etched in his mind.

The wizard left in such a hurry that he forgot to take many of his things. Sestitus learns why the wizard despises him:

He looks at the open pages and smiles maliciously. "My dear Wizard, your prophecy is far from over."

"Fate won't let you off so easily. I promise."
