From the Start, I Married the Emperor of an Enemy Nation

In early February, Changsun Nan broke through An Nan City, the capital of the Great Ming. Rather than execute the captured soldiers and officials, she overruled all objections and brought Ji Anyun, the enemy nation's new emperor, into her harem.

On their wedding night, seeing the poison the young man had put away and the knife he had sheathed, Changsun Nan curled her lips into a smile. "As long as you behave, I will ensure you continue to enjoy wealth and status, Your Majesty."

Before the wedding, Ji Anyun had been uneasy. But after getting to know the empress, he slowly let down his guard.

No one could resist someone with such charisma. Ji Anyun watched himself fall, fully aware of what was happening.

The empress wanted to move the capital, and swore to him: "The two nations will share one capital. It won't affect you in the slightest, Anyun."

Deeply moved, he foolishly handed over command of the Western Army. Only after reaching the new capital did he realize that the empress had always had more than one imperial consort. So this is what Your Majesty meant when she said nothing would change? What am I to you, Your Majesty?

Looking at the thin, withdrawn young man, Changsun Nan felt a pang of sympathy. "Anyun, you are special to me."

Ji Anyun gave a cold laugh. Which man in this palace isn't special? He would never believe a woman's lies again.

His old brother, exasperated at his folly, said, "I told you ages ago. Someone who killed his brother and father to seize the throne could never be that simple!"

Ji Anyun wore a regretful expression. "I want to leave. Will you help me?"

Content warnings: 1. Both leads have previous sexual partners.

2. No rivalry between women, but there is rivalry between men. The male rivalry plot begins in the middle.
