If He Becomes a Buddha, I'll Fall into Hell

In that life, Prince Yan's army was on the verge of victory when he was defeated. He took his own life, while Yun Xi refused to follow him in death.

Many years later, Yun Xi, the Azure Emperor and Flower God, went to plant lotuses on Buddha's birthday. By chance, she met Prince Yan, who had become the Venerable Weituo.

Yun Xi asked him, "Have you ever regretted it?"

But Weituo said he wished to attain Buddhahood, and had let go of everything in his heart. He had lived through seventy-two lifetimes and had long since seen through the mortal world.

Yun Xi, however, said, "If you become a Buddha, I will fall into hell."

From that day on, a new Azure Emperor was added to the ten kings of the underworld.

Every hundred years, the Venerable Weituo would come to the underworld to perform rites for the souls of the dead.
