The Eastern Kingdom's Left Chancellor incurs the king's wrath and faces many hardships while fleeing. After the Left Chancellor is killed, his son Ning Yu is still hunted by mysterious experts at every turn, until Mo Buyi saves him.

Mo Buyi is Ning Yu's junior martial uncle, and an expert in spirit control from the Eastern Kingdom.

To protect Ning Yu, Mo Buyi is pierced through the heart by a sword.

Believing him dead, Ning Yu has no choice but to become a disciple of the Western Kingdom's Taoist sect leader.
