His Cat

[Full manuscript completed]

When she graduated from high school, Wen Mian ended the most ridiculous pursuit of her life.

Whenever she thought back on the past, she couldn’t help wishing she could go back and strangle her former self.

Then one late night, while she was on duty at the hospital, Yan Yu showed up with a cat in his arms.

The man’s features were distant and cold, as if he had never known her.

When he handed her the cat, it eagerly burrowed into her arms.

Wen Mian lowered her eyes to look at it and heard a scoff above her head:

“If you ran away, don’t come back.”

The famously cold and ruthless lawyer Yan got saddled with a cat, and even started leaving work on time every day, claiming he had to go home and feed it.

Everyone became curious about the lawyer’s beloved cat.

The “cat” herself was not amused.

Wen Mian grabbed his collar, looking ready for a fight. “I won’t starve to death just because you don’t come home.”

The man’s expression remained calm. His warm hand closed around hers, pulling her into his arms. “But I’m hungry.”

“...”

Late at night, as Wen Mian struggled to keep her eyes open, she vaguely heard him sigh.

“I’m afraid you’ll run away again.”
