In 2409, nonrenewable resources were depleted, causing Earth to produce a substance called Wei, which significantly changed the human physique. It also caused terrestrial plants and animals to grow abnormally.

In 2622, Earth's resources were completely exhausted. In order to survive and reproduce, humanity left Earth and settled temporarily on an ocean-green planet named Linxing, splitting into five major bases. Earth was given a temporary reprieve.
In 3000, an unusual virus called Ying emerged on Linxing, causing the deaths of large numbers of human embryos and contaminating the environment. Native plants and animals launched large-scale attacks on humanity, leaving humans with no choice but to turn their attention back to Earth.
