The Heartless One

··In the queue, will write after "Crossing the Line" Shen Jiangyue has always felt that she and Luo Pingchuan shouldn't have ended without ever becoming anything. Luo Pingchuan was the best and brightest student at the affiliated high school, someone far away in the clouds, impossible to reach. He was born with a cold-looking face: peach-blossom eyes, a mole beneath one eye, thin lips, and a smile that was always sardonic and languid. She pretended to pass by him by chance countless times, only to see him raise an eyebrow, his eyes tinged with weariness. Someone once advised her, "People like him are born coldhearted. You're just wasting your time. Why put yourself through this?" Shen Jiangyue said nothing. No one knew that Luo Pingchuan would forever remain young and radiant in her memories. No one knew she'd carried a torch for him for ten whole years. Only later, when Shen Jiangyue saw someone like him smile at Ye Zhen, Did she belatedly realize that even someone so coldhearted could look dazzlingly beautiful when he truly smiled, like a spring breeze sweeping across an icy plain. Everything came alive with spring. Early summer, 2015. Standing beneath a camphor tree, Shen Jiangyue thought: Perhaps it was time for her long, distant, decade-long secret love to turn back from the wrong path. And many years later, Luo Pingchuan never imagined that the girl he'd met only a handful of times back then would become the one person he would pray for in a Buddhist temple, begging for her safety. "Thank you for unknowingly lighting up my entire youth." Content notes: 1v1, both leads are virgins, happy ending, slow burn. 2021-10-21 Theme: Stay true to yourself.
