I'm terrible at writing blurbs, and this is my first book, so I'll skip the blurb.
One-line introduction: This is an authentic period novel.
A completed food-themed novel in the same collection:
[I Made a Fortune Selling Snacks in 1979]
Zhang Zhixia had struggled for five years in the capital before finally buying her first home. Then an accident left her unconscious.
While unconscious, she heard that her hard-earned property had been seized by her younger brother-in-law from the countryside and her wicked mother-in-law. The old woman even came to her bedside and smugly revealed all sorts of secrets no one else knew.
A sudden surge of willpower made her open her eyes. Seeing the familiar ornaments and old furniture, she glanced at the dated calendar on the table. Huh? January 3, 1979?
She'd traveled back ten years!
And this seemed to be the day after her husband returned to his unit.

The nationwide college entrance exam was in full swing, sent-down youth were returning to the cities in droves, and the national economy was developing rapidly. It was the best of times.
So she returned to her old trade and opened a snack shop:
(Winter: nougat, candied hawthorn, chestnuts roasted with sugar, chestnut cakes, sponge cakes, lamb offal soup, soup dumplings, flaky pastries, savory pancakes, minced-meat flower rolls, roujiamo, and spicy hot pot.)
(Spring: sweet and savory tofu pudding, jianbing, roast chicken, skewers, cold noodles and liangpi, flower cakes, luosifen, spring rolls, qingtuan, and all sorts of other treats.)
(Summer: ice jelly, hot-pot skewers, clam vermicelli, lamb kebabs, sour plum soup, grass jelly, beer, barbecue, crayfish, and more to come...)
(Autumn: still to be developed...)

Although Jiang Tang lives in the impoverished 1970s,
she has a way to make money, a loving family, and plenty of friends.
Her life is full and happy.
The only thing she doesn't understand is why her cousin from her third uncle's family often looks at her with pity and speaks to her in a sarcastic, barbed tone.
Then one night, she sees a book in a dream and finally understands.
Is the world she lives in actually a book?
She's a minor character in it,
doted on by everyone at first, but later she becomes obsessed with a sent-down youth. To get together with him, she abandons her friends and falls out with her family. After all that turmoil, the young man dumps her...
The heroine is her cousin, Jiang Cha.
The book says Jiang Cha starts out in hardship, but her life improves once she meets the male lead, a sent-down youth. After that, it's as if she has a lucky charm, and she rises steadily to success.
In the middle of the night, after waking from her dream, Jiang Tang is furious.
Isn't the gentle, considerate, obedient, clingy, affectionate little sidekick next door good enough?
And isn't money easy to earn? Isn't a pocketful of big bills great?
Taking away someone's livelihood is like killing their parents.
Even if Jiang Tang dies in this life, even if she gets crushed to death by money,
she will never go out of her way to give anyone money or ration coupons!
Point of view two:
Jiang Cha has known since childhood that she lives in a book. She's the protagonist everyone envies. Her life is hard at first, but later she becomes a lucky, unstoppable heroine.
So what if Jiang Tang, in the house next door, is living the good life now?
She's still destined to die young.
Point of view three:
Lu Wenzhou has been in poor health since childhood and doesn't talk much.
But he has a group of good friends and a lively, adorable, quirky childhood sweetheart who thinks of him every moment of every day.
P.S. The male lead was only in poor health as a child!
There are five main characters. They set out from Taoxing Village and move forward together.
This is a cozy, everyday farming story, all about good friends being sweet, quirky, eating, and drinking together. Check!
The career, friendship, and romance storylines all progress slowly side by side.
