Yu Geya, the legitimate princess of the Shang Kingdom, was showered with love from the time she was little. Countless people fawned over and curried favor with her, but her study companion, Cheng Yuwan, the daughter of the Minister of Revenue, was the one exception, always cold and distant toward her.

Ten years later, the new emperor sought to consolidate his power. He accused the Protector of the State and his entire clan of treason and had them all beheaded, implicating Yu Geya as well.

For a time, everyone feared for their lives and dared not speak. Only Cheng Yuwan, now a noble consort, dared to stand up and speak out against the injustice done to the Protector of the State and his clan.

Even when the new emperor threatened, bribed, and tortured her, Cheng Yuwan remained frank and steadfast. In the end, she was convicted of grave disrespect and sentenced to death by hanging, her body displayed in the center of the city gate tower.

When Yu Geya heard the news in prison, she was consumed with regret. She could only blame her former self for being so blind, for not seeing sooner who around her was sincere and who was pretending.

With all hope lost, she drank the poisoned wine. She never expected that when she woke again, she would find herself back at the age of fifteen!

She would repay every grudge and every kindness.

This time, she would no longer drift aimlessly through life!

Since her imperial brother had cast aside all loyalty and affection for the sake of power, she would take the throne from him and make him regret it!

She would also give Cheng Yuwan a proper apology, and find her a good match while she was at it, to stop her from falling into the trap of her trash of an imperial brother!

Her plans were going very smoothly.

As for their feelings... Wait, what happened to the sisterly affection they had agreed on? When did it turn into something else?!
