[Complete. Please add my next modern novel, Deeply Hidden Rose, to your reading list! Blurb at the bottom.]
Tang Li transmigrates into a melodramatic cultivation novel. She isn’t the heroine or the villainess. She’s a mighty, fearsome sword famous throughout the land, whose master just so happens to be the utterly deranged villain who destroys the world and is ultimately hacked to pieces by the hero.
As a sword spirit, Tang Li works diligently every day so she won’t get killed alongside the villain in the finale. She has to repair the relationship between the villain and the protagonist while keeping an eye on her master, afraid that if she displeases him, he’ll send her back to the forge to be remade.
Then one day, Tang Li suddenly takes human form, and she looks exactly like the novel’s beloved heroine.
The villain stares at her face, lost in thought, making no secret of his crush on the heroine.
From then on, Tang Li becomes the heroine’s substitute, and her odds of surviving under the villain’s thumb skyrocket.
But the villain doesn’t seem interested in flirting with her. Instead, he comes up with new ways every day to make her his maid.
Villain: “Can you cook?”
Tang Li: “I can’t, but I can learn.”
Villain: “Can you play the zither?”
Tang Li: “I can’t, but I can learn.”
Villain: “Can you warm the bed?”
Tang Li: “I can’t, but I can... Huh?”
The villain gives her a faint smile.
Tang Li: So I really can’t escape this after all!
As it turns out, Tang Li lies on the villain’s bed for nearly half an hour. He lifts the covers, checks the temperature with his hand, and says, “Mm, that’s enough. You can go now.”
Tang Li: ?
An affectionate, sweet, lively little sword spirit
X
A cool, chaste, and ruthless immortal Venerable who is a merman
One-on-one romance, both leads are each other’s first, happy ending
Content warnings:
1. Fake substitute trope (pay attention). Don’t be fooled by the title. The heroine isn’t a substitute. This is actually a sweet, fluffy romance.
2. This isn’t a typical cultivation novel. The cultivation and sword-spirit settings are entirely the author’s own, and may differ greatly from those in other authors’ works. Please don’t argue about it.
3. The hero really is a villain, and the heroine really is a coward at first. Don’t try to fit this into your own moral framework.
4. The original heroine will be vilified. If you can’t accept that, please steer clear.
5. This is my first time writing a novel, so please forgive any amateurish prose, poorly handled characters, or gaps in the logic.
Advance title: Deeply Hidden Rose. Please add it to your reading list!
[Wealthy heiress and designer x aloof male star]
After returning to China, Lin Huai moves into a luxury apartment her family bought in the center of Nancheng.
She never expected her neighbor to be her high school deskmate, Lan An, who is now the country’s top-tier star.
She vaguely remembers that back in high school, Lan An’s grades were so poor that the teachers kept seating him next to her, the top student in the class.
The boy was aloof and cocky. He never paid attention in class, yet somehow always scored just high enough to stay above the cutoff for the advanced class, making him the class’s perennial last-place student who never got kicked out.
Lin Huai asked him how he did it. He curved his lips into a cocky smile.
“Just think of it as me controlling my scores.”
Eight years later, when they meet again in the elevator, the unruly, arrogant boy from back then now has blue hair. His bangs peek out from beneath a black baseball cap, partly covering his eyes.
He looks at her with a gloomy, icy expression, as if she were a stranger.
Lin Huai pushes down her myriad thoughts and smiles at him. “Long time no see, Lan An.”
The man pulls down his black mask and says just six words, his thin lips barely moving:
“Hope you’ve been well, Lin Huai.”
-
Later, Lin Huai and Lan An gradually become close again after becoming neighbors.
A photo of them walking side by side is secretly taken and spreads across the internet.
“Top-tier male star’s romance with heiress to the Shengshi Group exposed. Proof he’s been riding on women’s coattails for years.”
Rumors and insults come crashing down from every direction. Lin Huai sets down the phone that’s been bombarded with calls and messages and pushes open the ajar door next door.
“PR is already putting out a clarification. None of this is true, so don’t worry...”
She stops halfway through and freezes at the sight of the mess.
Broken bottles, antidepressants scattered across the floor, glaring bloodstains on the white tiles, and the dazzling man she knows from the screen slumped by the floor-to-ceiling window, exhaling clouds of white smoke.
“Some of what they said is true.”
Lan An’s voice is hoarse. His eyes are reddened, his smile in pieces.
That album really was written for her, and the grand concert in London really was held for her.
“Lin Huai, my feelings for you have never been pure and innocent.”
One-on-one romance, both leads are each other’s first, happy ending
Mutual pining, a story of salvation
The first half takes place at school, the second half in the city
Content warnings:
1. This isn’t an entertainment-industry novel. The heroine isn’t in the entertainment business. She only moves in high society and fashion circles.
2. The heroine is ridiculously rich but very low-key, and has tons of skills. It’s a Mary Sue setup, so don’t argue.
The leads’ names come from the line: “The blue eucalyptus has met the sparrow of the pagoda tree; it loves nothing in the world but you.”
This story has no real-life inspirations.
Theme: Love should be mutual.
I feel that this is one of the best fantasy novels I have ever read. I really wanted to cry when I read it. Although it is not cruel, it feels like the male protagonist has been waiting for the female protagonist for more than a thousand years. Although the female protagonist was reincarnated later, she did not forget the male protagonist in the end. They really went in both directions. In addition, the author is so damned!!
It feels like the author is testing the edge of being locked every time. Hahaha
I can't tell at all that this is my first article. It's very interesting.
It's so weird. Actually, I feel like we in the parallel world are not the same person...
It seems that nothing has been written, and it seems that everything has been written. This is not a bus to kindergarten.
Do you want to see the details?
As a new author, the first article is great. The logic and character design are all good, especially Cheche. Is this really the first one? Mrs. Cheche is so skilled. Actually, there is a small problem. Tang Li is a modern person who graduated from college. After transforming into a sword spirit, she called the male protagonist master in order to survive in the early stage. Later, when the relationship was established, she still called him master. When she had a little affection, she was willing to protect him as a sword spirit.
Finally I know the purpose of jade, bleating
What does it mean to be married? This experience makes me a little scared.
I hit such a great male protagonist in one go
