Chinese Parasol Tree

Withered yellow plane tree leaves carried the lingering flutter of an unfinished love.

Beneath the plane tree, he held her hand tightly and said, "Let's get married this time next year."

"Don't think you can get rid of me."

"I'll be with you for the rest of my life."

The plane tree leaves carried their story into the earth. They did not rot, but took root and sprouted, bringing hope and love with them.
