Who Fell for My Looks?

Everyone says that Pei Jiugе, the beautiful young lady of a great family, is kind-hearted and lovely, as pure and fair as a white lotus.

Only the wolf boy she captured knows what a false, Guanyin-like smile she wears, and how cruel her heart is.

When he refused to leave the wolf pack, she had the entire tribe slaughtered and the pack leader's head cut off.

When he refused to leave his wolf mother, she had his brothers skinned, making the mother wolf flee of her own accord.

When he refused to return to human society, she seemed not to care at all. Instead, she tormented him all the more, wearing him down night after night until he gritted his teeth in fury, yet repeatedly succumbed to the maddening passion she brought him.

She alone taught Gu Yucheng, who had known so little about humans, a profound lesson without any instruction:

The more beautiful a woman is, the more dangerous she is. The prettier she is, the more ruthless she is.

Pei Jiugе was plagued by nightmares for several days.

She dreamed she had offended the new emperor's son, who had been raised among commoners, and that the woman he loved was her half-sister, whom she had ground into the dirt.

Together, they destroyed her family and severed her ties with her loved ones, leaving her to be abused by beggars until she died.

After waking, Pei Jiugе smiled faintly, refusing to believe in fate.

At any cost, she tracked down the wolf cub who was still being raised by a she-wolf.

Then she humiliated him, bullied him, and abused him.

She made him wish he were dead, yet unable to die, made him love and hate her, and brought every one of his emotions under her control.

Gu Yucheng was the most gifted of the princes, a man of great ambition and noble character.

The court trusted him, and he had the emperor's favor. Everyone believed he would ascend the throne, reclaim lost territory, expand the borders, and achieve an enduring legacy of wise rule and loyal service.

But the world only saw his brilliance, assuming that ever since he was found and brought back, his fortunes had turned and everything had gone his way.

Only they didn't know...

With his eyes open or closed, in dreams or in reality,

all he saw was Guanyin.

"I am your nightmare."

A friendly note:

* A seemingly kind but actually cruel, heartless Guanyin-like heroine X a puppy-like hero who is completely wrapped around her finger. Both are virgins, and each is the other's first love.

* Reversed coercive romance (the woman claims the man). High emotional intensity, with reasons behind the characters' actions, plot twists, and hidden truths.

* Fictional setting, power struggles between aristocratic families and the imperial court, with some household intrigue.
