The Tudor Rose

My name is Mary.

Before I came to this sixteenth-century English dynasty, I never imagined that the moment I opened my eyes in bed, I would have transmigrated into the body of Mary Tudor.

The infamous Bloody Mary.

My mother, the noble Spanish princess Catherine, daughter of two monarchs, was unlucky enough to marry my cold-blooded, selfish father, Henry VIII, who was having an affair. Forced into a divorce, she died heartbroken.

My father stripped me of my title and crown, declaring me illegitimate. In the name of the Church, my own father revoked my rightful status as princess and heir.

My mother and the five queens who came after her taught me a truth with their once-vibrant lives: stay away from men, or you really will end up miserable.

At last, he was dead. I decided to use every means at my disposal to take revenge. I staged a coup, imprisoned the reigning monarch, and claimed the throne that should have been mine.

If my father would not give me the crown, I would take it myself.

I raised my proud head and lifted the crown, symbol of supreme royal power. With my enemies' blood, I would lay my humiliated past to rest and forge a glorious scepter.

My name is Mary I, Queen of England and Ireland.

Note: The main text is written in third person.

The focus is on her career, with a supporting romance. Her relationship with her historical husband is merely for show.

Lady Jane Grey survives and is on very good terms with the female lead. They love each other dearly.

Theme: No one can stand in the way of a queen's revenge.
