[Everyday Life at the General Store] [Adult Fairy Tale]
Tired of her life as an overworked city wage slave, Li Ru fled back to her hometown, ready to settle down and live a quiet farming life. Then she inherited her grandfather's general store, along with its magical "relationships."
The store's customers come and go unpredictably. There's Mr. Brown Bear, who looks kind and honest but is actually cunning; a chattery, innocent, adorable little squirrel who loves causing trouble; and Ms. Kingfisher, an elegant beauty who is also supremely narcissistic.
Li Ru has only just learned to understand animal speech and is still figuring things out when she's forced to run the general store properly. Today she's breaking up a pair of squirrels, tomorrow she's soothing a bruise on Mr. Brown Bear's cheek. Just as she's about to eat through all her savings, livestreaming takes off. With the animals' help, Li Ru solves her financial crisis and even helps local farmers sell their produce.
That winter, after the university collapsed, the animals who had nowhere else to go gathered in the general store and spent a lively winter together.
