When a new beauty is presented, the tyrant Ji Xing lounges on his couch, idly turning a dagger in his hand. Its blade glints coldly.
The palace attendants kneel trembling nearby, ready to clean up the mess that is sure to follow.
Left alone in the great hall, Manman looks around in bewilderment. Then she lifts her skirt and toddles over to Ji Xing.
In the stifling silence, Manman picks up the fruit platter from the table with both hands and sweetly asks the tyrant, "Should we start by peeling these?"
Ji Xing glances at her and thinks: Where did this idiot come from?

Manman stares at him in horror, then pats her chest in relief. "Good thing I'm not much of a crier."
Ji Xing: "..."
Manman tugs at his sleeve, curious. "Then what kind of person do you like?"
Ji Xing doesn't answer. Instead, the hand that has spent its days wielding swords and blades rises to pinch Manman's cheek.
