Later, much later
The river rain by the fallen pavilion still swept in with the breeze, settling among the shadows of the trees before the window.
The boy of those days had long since vanished with the wind. Fortunately, someone was still here, able to continue this bond from a past life a hundred years later.
Clouds settled over the dust, and at last everything fell into place, making this life worthwhile.
A foreword to reading The Black Pavilion:
1. The book is planned to have three parts and seven volumes, totaling around 170,000 words.
2. The first part, To Lun, was the author's first attempt at writing, so the overall reading experience may not be very good. If that bothers you, feel free to start with the second part, Bamboo Threads, or the third, Jing Ruo. (The second part also doesn't do a particularly good job developing the plot and romance; its main focus is on shaping the characters.) Please be understanding.
3. The author's chapter arrangement is rather unconventional. Every side story placed midway through a part is closely connected to the main plot. Skipping them may make the overall story difficult to understand.
4. Though it may seem like the author is just filling in plot holes, the confusing or illogical parts of the first and second sections will be explained as foreshadowing in the third.
5. The author's wording and phrasing aren't typical of web novels. There may occasionally be a few original poems, lyrics, or passages that mix classical and modern Chinese styles, which may make the writing seem rather obscure. Some of the author's poems and miscellaneous writings can be found in Dust: Fallen.
6. This book will be revised frequently. The current version is generally the one that began in 2022 or 2023; the original version has been completely rewritten. As a result, some parts of the book may lack continuity, or you may often see a newly updated chapter that was written quite some time ago. This is normal. Major revisions are rare, and before one happens, the entire book will be locked, so you can generally read the chapters in order.
7. The author generally updates weekly, though there may be two or three updates in a day on occasion, or no updates for several months. The author is not a full-time writer, so please understand. Chapter lengths will gradually increase in the near future, so updates should settle into a weekly to biweekly schedule starting with Like a Dream, Chapter 12. (Chapters 10 and 11 of Like a Dream were written together and then split into two, which is why there was a long break before them.)
8. This story is entirely fictional and has no connection to any other time or place, including the real world. Please don't read yourself into it. This book is about literature, not any other topics, so when reviewing it, readers are welcome to treat it as a bit of fun and not take it seriously.
9. May all the countless bonds of this world eventually find their way home.
Theme: All the bonds of this world will eventually find their way home.
Dare to write a paragraph In Yuzhi's dream, peach blossoms fell softly and brushed against the young man's cheek. Perhaps there is a bunch of candied haws that I ate when I was young. The golden sugar liquid drips slowly, creating another scene. There were thousands of troops and horses crossing the glacier, full of murderous intent. Above the sky covered with dark clouds, Jiang's hands covered the sky, pulling out countless threads and weaving them into a web. The rain was rising and falling in the dream sea, but he still saw a few rays of sunshine in the sky. He stretched out his hand to grab it, but fell into another soft dreamland again. It was drizzling in the dream, and he didn't bring an umbrella. The raindrops fell deftly and landed on his cheeks, as tenderly as a kiss that would leave immediately. He opened his eyes, and there was still warmth on his face. He had already moved from the table to the couch, but there was no one else around him. He thought of the bright and lively guy across the wall, like the bright July sun, and his heart was a little confused.
