Next Generation
The heroine is the granddaughter of Professor Slughorn. She inherited her grandfather Horace's outstanding diplomatic skills and is also a refined egoist, a quintessential Slytherin. She won't disparage any house, though, because in her eyes, what distinguishes people isn't their house, but whether they can be of use to her. She's just like Horace Slughorn in her enthusiasm for building connections, while still having her own values and judgment.
This story contains an abundance of author-invented details. The pairing is undecided and will be determined by how things develop. It may be a little wish-fulfillment. The author is writing purely out of love for the story, so please don't read if that bothers you.
