Lu Youming retired from the escape game. The System rewarded her with a chance to come back to life in the real world. Her new body belonged to a nobody in the entertainment industry, with only a variety-show contract to her name.
Looking at the guests announced online, she realized, what a coincidence, they were all players she'd met in the escape game. Since they were old acquaintances, why not team up once more? :D
"Horror Script Murder" was a variety show billed as absolutely realistic and thrilling, using an immersive murder-mystery format. After it premiered, viewers were eager to see their favorite stars shine. Instead, they watched the guests abandon all elegance and composure, chased by the obscure Lu Youming as they screamed in terror and ran for their lives.
Viewers: Is this really that nobody? Holy crap, the way she's chasing the guests with a chainsaw is terrifying!
Guests: Aaaah, Mom! The dungeon boss, the Netherworld Lord, has actually come out! (Nightmare revisited.jpg)

As the show aired, viewers increasingly felt that something was off between the guests. They seemed very familiar with one another, but not like good friends. People who normally had nothing to do with each other could huddle together and whisper, or trade sarcastic barbs.
And whenever Lu Youming appeared, all the guests fell silent, only to be rounded up and wiped out by her in the dungeon like chicks being caught one by one.
Viewers: Wait, was that a huge iron chain that just flew out from behind Lu Youming?!

The show became a hit, and Lu Youming became an overnight sensation.
The other guests, however, seemed to have survived a trial by fire. Their attitudes changed completely, and they crowded around Lu Youming, showering her with extravagant praise.
Viewers: Don't think I didn't hear you accidentally call her the "Netherworld Lord"!
As for the production team's explanation that "the script is entirely fictional, and everything seen during the livestream is a special effect," netizens weren't buying it.
