From the gong's perspective:
Before he was reborn, Mu Linshu disliked the fiance he had been promised to since childhood, so he ruined the marriage arrangement.
Only after his death did Mu Linshu learn that he was merely a cannon-fodder character in a storybook, destined to serve as a stepping stone for his dear third younger brother.
His third younger brother's husband was no pushover either, and carried some kind of System with him.
That man was also behind Mu Linshu breaking off the engagement.
The reason was that the late empress had arranged the match. If Mu Linshu broke it off, it would leave a stain on his reputation.
After being reborn, Mu Linshu married his husband as planned, only to discover, to his surprise, that his husband was incredibly good at making money!
From the shou's perspective:
Siqi never imagined he would transmigrate, much less end up in a country he had never heard of.
That alone would have been bad enough, but the men here could actually give birth!
Worse still, he had a childhood betrothal of his own.
Good heavens, what era was this? They still had childhood betrothals?
Siqi had planned to run away from the wedding, but after meeting his fiance, he discovered that he was handsome and remarkably refined.
In that case, he might as well go along with it.
