Zhong Annan came alone to Pingzhou, where he met Lin Muchen. They went from strangers to lovers.
Zhong Annan came first in all three imperial examinations. Everyone thought he would join the court as a civil official, but they were all astonished when he chose to teach at the Imperial Academy, instructing his students in the art of governing the country. (Here, this means advising officials, not teaching the emperor how to rule.)
Lin Muchen was the governor of Pingzhou. When he saw Zhong Annan, he saw a ginkgo tree, and he saw love.
This is a short story about the two of them being sweet together after they get together.
"I'm so glad I met you."
"I'm blessed beyond measure."
