1. Ming Ke has always been very slow on the uptake.

When people confessed to her, she thought they were trying to get close to Wen Yu through her.

When people gave her chocolate, it always ended up with Wen Yu.

When people asked her for help with a problem, she not only gave them the answer, she also made practice questions for them.

The year they graduated, Wen Yu took her to pray at a temple. They knelt side by side before the Buddha like a couple at their wedding. Ming Ke closed her eyes devoutly, while Wen Yu silently prayed, May all her wishes come true.

Only later did he learn that, that year, Ming Ke had wished for world peace.

2. Deep down, Wen Yu was a little insecure. He couldn't remember when it began, but he realized his feelings for Ming Ke had changed.

It was like adding heart-racing popping candy to a mint chew.

At last, he confessed in a roundabout way: "I think my love for you has changed."

Ming Ke blinked. "...Huh?"

"I want to be the husband who follows his wife, or... the wife who follows her husband works too."

Ming Ke: "Wow, you've really changed a lot."

3. After they got married, Ming Ke was especially hung up on when Wen Yu had first fallen for her.

Wen Yu: "You might have forgotten when we first met."

Ming Ke's eyes widened. "How could I?!"

It was one of the few unhappy memories in her life. At that group dinner, she'd been singled out by the adults and forced to put on a performance for everyone.

Wen Yu smiled faintly and said nothing.

You might have forgotten, but the first time we met, you saw through the happiness I was pretending to feel, even among all those people. You effortlessly exposed my vulnerability. That's when I thought, the world is truly amazing. And then you came to find me.
