A Journey Through Qizhou

The eldest daughter of Guandong Chuan, Governor of Qizhou, followed her aunt back to their ancestral home in Jiujiang Commandery to visit relatives. Who could have known that barely three months later, news would arrive that the Gu family's eldest young lady, not yet even fifteen, had died suddenly of an acute illness? Since she had not yet married, the elders of the clan arranged her funeral. Everyone in Jiujiang Commandery heard the news. Three days later, outside Yuzhang County, Guan Quenu, the girl rumored to have died suddenly, brought her maid and stopped Ji Ji, once a dashing lieutenant general of the Left Golden Guards, now a down-on-his-luck escort chief in his thirties. For five strings of cash, she hired him to take her and her maid back to Yong County in Qizhou. Ji Ji: Hm? Miss, your clothes don't look like those of the poor family you described. Guan Quenu [smiling without warmth]: You're too kind, Escort Chief Ji. We're just an ordinary merchant family. Theme: An ordinary wanderer of the martial world
