How Can You Even Fool a Ghost?

Pretty, but not very bright, evil ghost shou * Cunning, scheming, fake Taoist master gong

Cheng Sui had roamed freely and lorded over the region for a hundred years, only to accidentally form a pact with a good-for-nothing Taoist master.

The Taoist master was mediocre at catching ghosts and guiding souls. His only real talent was looking handsome and playing the victim.

At first, Cheng Sui was always itching to kill the Taoist master he'd made a pact with. But whenever the man saw a ghost, he used Cheng Sui as a shield.

"A Sui, help me catch it."

Cheng Sui couldn't withstand the coaxing and pleading. He waved a hand, and the little ghost vanished in a scream.

"Boss! Weren't you the one who told me to eat this stinking Taoist master?!"

The good-for-nothing Taoist master pinched a wisp of Cheng Sui's soul and smiled innocently. "A Sui, it said you wanted to kill me."

Cheng Sui: "Don't listen to its bullshit."

Keeping ghosts is a major taboo for Taoist masters. Cheng Sui let his guard down once and was captured by the good-for-nothing Taoist master's fellow disciples and locked inside a formation.

Just as he was falling into despair, the good-for-nothing master came down from the sky, slaughtered his fellow disciples, and destroyed the formation.

When the man's bloodstained hand brushed Cheng Sui's cheek, he realized that the useless Taoist master who always hid behind him was actually a ghostly Asura even more wicked than he was.

Cheng Sui: Someone, exorcise me. Right now.

* The shou's lack of brains mostly means he's quick-tempered, innocent, and believes whatever people tell him. In short, he's easy to fool.

* The gong isn't a good person. He has no principles, morals, or bottom line.

* There's a crematorium arc.
