Martial arts prodigy Gu Ran transmigrates into an entertainment-industry novel and gets bound to a System that rewards her for slacking off. The System tells her that she's a cannon-fodder female supporting character here, and that her ending will be tragic.
The System tells her that if she keeps slacking off, she can get everything she wants.
So every day, she eats and drinks, clutches her favorite thermos, and appears on the most unpopular variety shows.
One day, she becomes famous. Film, television, and endorsement offers rain down on her.
Gu Ran clenches her fists. "You forced me into this!!!"
@Today's Gossip: Hahahaha, what kind of absolute treasure is Ranran? She even hired online trolls to attack herself [picture][picture][picture]
After failing to hire trolls and becoming famous anyway, she somehow ends up being paired with Best Actor Lin Ye. Gu Ran gets mad and posts a coy, tea-flavored Weibo.
[@Gu Ran V: Ye-ge looks so handsome when he's acting [picture][picture][heart-grab][heart-grab][heart-grab]]
Having achieved her wish of getting flamed by Lin Ye's fans and trending, Gu Ran lies flat at home and sleeps until she loses track of time.
The next morning
[@Lin Ye V: Thanks for the compliment. My empress, @Gu Ran]
A period drama with hundreds of millions in investment announces Gu Ran as its leading lady, and she takes over the trending topics.
Gu Ran: ...
Lin Ye, an overworked Best Actor in the entertainment industry, has filmed thirty dramas in five years, averaging six a year. Out of 365 days a year, he spends 360 of them on set, and ends up working himself sick.
To recover, he turns down all his engagements, only to be told that he doesn't have long to live.
Just as he decides to give up, one day he suddenly gets bound to a System that promotes unpopular stars. If he makes Gu Ran famous, he can be cured.
So he sets his sights on Gu Ran, the queen of slacking off.
The female lead only wants to slack off but becomes a sensation vs. the male lead only wants to overwork but is forced to lie flat
Theme: Overwork is exhausting. Better to lie flat.
Although the ending is a bit rushed, it's still great
