After Lin Yan died unexpectedly, he petitioned those above for special permission to accompany her to the various parallel worlds, where he could witness her defy fate with his own eyes.
Unfortunately, he discovered that no matter which parallel world they were in, he was still only Male Character Number N, not even important enough to be Lin Yan's cannon-fodder ex-boyfriend or admirer. He got fewer scenes with her than the stray dog living downstairs.
So, while Lin Yan tried every possible way to replace the male leads in each world, he also did everything he could to charm and seduce her, working tirelessly to climb from supporting character to male lead.
