The Past and Present Dumpling Shop

Shen Cheng loses her job at the end of the year and is buried in debt. Then she inherits a dumpling shop on the verge of closing.

A dilapidated building, peeling walls, and a weathered wooden door.

Plus more than a million yuan in debt, thanks to her unreliable father's terrible management.

Shen Cheng: I choose to die right now.

One night, the weathered wooden door in the dumpling shop glows with a soft golden light. Shen Cheng pushes it open and takes a look:

Whoa! Ancient times!!!

Day one: Shen Cheng takes pity on an old beggar and gives him the last of her hot pork-and-seafood dumplings.

Day seven: Shen Cheng, a lover of peace, gives fragrant pork dumplings to an injured soldier who has fallen behind.

Day twelve: Shen Cheng's motherly instincts take over, and she gives a grubby little boy some tender dumplings filled with beef and white radish.

Day five: The old man gives Shen Cheng a painting and calligraphy piece. A calligrapher who comes to eat at the shop takes a fancy to it and buys it for a high price.

Shen Cheng: Whoa! That beggar was actually a famous calligrapher!

Day nineteen: The injured soldier knocks on her door and brings Shen Cheng a whole bag of gold, silver, and jewels.

Shen Cheng: Whoa! So he was a general, too!

Day n: The grubby little boy brings her a box of crab-shell pastries, along with... his prince of a father.

Shen Cheng: Whoa... I can't even say whoa anymore. QAQ
