You're Better Than a Spring Morning

Blurb One:

At the start of her second year of high school, Yan Qiu drops from the honors class to a regular class, where she meets a deskmate she doesn't exactly get along with.

During the long-distance running test, her deskmate comes first in the boys' group. Yan Qiu grits her teeth and goes from fifth to first in the girls' group, leaving everyone stunned. When their class puts together a wall display, Yan Qiu paints a few flowers, and her deskmate, who never joins in group activities, adds a few trees to the blackboard. They look pretty convincing, too. At the arts festival, Yan Qiu signs up to play the guqin, so her deskmate signs up to play the piano. Yan Qiu comes first in the class on an exam, so her deskmate makes sure he doesn't come second to last.

Later, they argue late at night. She hangs up in tears and blocks him.

Less than half an hour later, another classmate calls to say he's waiting downstairs at her building.

She runs out onto the balcony and sees him looking up at her. The night between them is no thicker than mist.

He asks her, "Are you coming down, or am I coming up?"

Blurb Two:

I want the joy of a love as beautiful as golden wind and jade dew, but I also want to cut open a heart and make sure its feelings are true.
