An invincible, canon-focused story, from first year all the way to graduation. Baochai's sister is, in a sense, a transmigrated soul. Since this is canon-focused, the Xue family's background can't match Dream of the Red Chamber perfectly (emphasis on perfectly), so if anything is different, just assume I'm making it all up. Only some members of the Xue family will appear, and their roles will also be changed. In a new society, even a demon can become a decent person. If Xue Pan were still the same rotten mess he used to be, he wouldn't be a rowdy young master, he'd be Sun Xiaoguo.
I've also adjusted his age a little. Baochai is 11 at the start, and he's 15. Otherwise, though people say beauties should only belong to the strong (just kidding), I can't imagine a 13-year-old getting into fights over women.
Everyone has their own interpretation of Baochai's character. If you dislike her, I don't think we need to make each other miserable. Feel free to discuss our differences with me, or even criticize me, but don't attack Baochai. Any out-of-character writing is my fault.
Here's my own impression of her: I don't think Baochai is an ambitious schemer or a defender of feudal values. On the contrary, her personality is unique, and she's an exceptionally tolerant and magnanimous person, almost like an immortal. But I don't think her personality makes her perfect, either. In Dream of the Red Chamber, each character's personality shapes who they are and ultimately leads to their tragedy. Her coldness is a limitation that lets her live well, yet keeps her from ever achieving a perfect ending.
And then there's Draco. Ma Tianlong's role comes later, and I definitely won't shortchange him.
