When the once-powerful Tang You'an fell from grace, all he was left with was a lonely grave, neglected and without a single visitor. Only Xie Jiayu brought fruit to pay her respects every Qingming Festival, year after year without fail. When she was a child, she had been homeless, and the young, tender-hearted Tang You'an had given her some silver. That was the only reason she had survived.
Xie Jiayu lived to the age of eighty. She died on the road to pay her respects to Tang You'an for the last time.
When she opened her eyes again, she was back on the familiar streets. Young Tang You'an placed a packet of silver at her feet. This time, Xie Jiayu didn't simply bow her head in gratitude. She grabbed his sleeve and clung to it, refusing to let go.
No matter what Tang You'an became in the future, Xie Jiayu wanted only to stay by his side for as long as she could.
