Jiang Zhenzhen became a child star and remained popular in show business for years. Countless people adored her, from top-tier stars to veteran actors.
Then one day, a photo posted by an unknown passerby sent her straight to the top of the trending charts.
In the photo, Jiang Zhenzhen, usually aloof and regal, barely sparing anyone a glance, had hooked her arm around a man's hand. Her expression was forlorn, and she held herself with unusual humility.
The man, meanwhile, was expressionless, his lowered gaze cold and indifferent.
At the time, Jiang Zhenzhen was filming deep in the mountains, where the signal was terrible. But she still managed to post a clarification on Weibo: I'm pursuing him. Don't dig around.
The next day, the Shi Group made an announcement:
Shi Che, the young heir to the group who had studied abroad for years, was set to get engaged to Jiang Xue, another heiress who was competing with Jiang Zhenzhen for Best Actress.
The internet exploded.
Not only because the news was explosive, but because the group's rumored young heir and the man Jiang Zhenzhen was pursuing were one and the same.
Half a year later, Jiang Zhenzhen, who had disappeared from the public eye after the affair scandal, made her comeback in a film. Her face was still breathtakingly beautiful on screen.
At the press conference, a reporter asked if she was still in touch with Shi Che.
Jiang Zhenzhen smiled faintly. "Shi Che? I don't know him."

Shi Che was the most untouchable figure in high society. He took charge of the group at a young age and became well known to the public because of rumors linking him to a popular actress.
He was cold and proud, showing no warmth even to his former fiancee. Yet more than one person had spotted him waiting silently outside Jiang Zhenzhen's apartment building.
From nightfall until dawn.
Early in the morning, Jiang Zhenzhen came downstairs and looked at the entrance indifferently.
The man's clothes were rumpled, and his handsome face showed the exhaustion of staying up all night.
But his eyes, as he looked at her, brimmed with love.
He stumbled forward and clutched Jiang Zhenzhen's hand in a panic, murmuring, "Zhenzhen, I love you."
"You're the only one I love."
