A robot's fate is to be scrapped or to remain loyal to its master. He can learn any kind of knowledge, but he can never learn how to love.
A-3527, a robot without a heart, fell in love with a girl.
His inventor, Lin Su, sneered as he told A-3527 that being with the girl was nothing but a pipe dream.
But robots do not dream, either. He envied humans for their dreams. Lin Su had once told him that when a person could not fulfill a wish, they could only find comfort in their sleep.
A-3527 followed the human method, using his chip to simulate and compile videos. He thought that was what dreaming meant.
Robots were supposed to recharge with solar power during the day and go on standby at night. But he spent the nights compiling countless virtual videos, draining his battery completely, all for a brief taste of a human dream coming true.
For a robot, running out of power was the same as death for a human.
Later, he thought that when humans slept without dreaming, it might be just like a robot running out of power. Both were a kind of little death.
