[Multiple pairings! Multiple pairings! Multiple pairings! Both protagonists are male in their original forms, but their genders, orientations, and positions vary within each instance. If that bothers you, please don't read. (Palms together)]
The Heavenly Dao is collapsing, demons are running rampant, and spiritual platforms are corrupted. Cultivators can only catch their breath by constantly slaying inner demons. One day, the protagonist, haunted by inner demons, falls in battle, his sanity drops to zero, and he becomes a demon god's lackey.
Day after day, he plays an invincible calamity in each inner-demon illusion. People fear him, hate him, and curse him, yet they have no choice but to praise him, please him, and worship him.
The protagonist is unmoved. He has just one mission: deceive cultivators, incite them to violence, use their sanity as bait, and lure them into sinking into pleasure and chaos, turning this world into a demon god's lair.
Until one day, a divine oracle descends with a warning. In the vision, the demon god is defeated, and the protagonist, as his lackey, is pierced through the heart by the cold-eyed savior, who drains all the blood from his body.
The demon god is still rambling on, but the protagonist hasn't heard a word. He's noticed something much more pressing.
He's fallen in love at first sight with the savior in the prophecy.
As the Heavenly Dao teeters on the brink, the protagonist joins forces with his childhood friend, whom he's known since they were little, to fight the demonic corruption. They lose the only high-stakes gamble they have.
He dies in his best friend's arms. Before his consciousness fades, he sees his friend devour all the corruption, linking every cultivator's sea of consciousness and transforming it into a dream sea, intercepting the invasion in the space between reality and illusion.
But his friend becomes the final demon god, and under the Heavenly Dao, everyone sees him as an enemy.
The childhood friend is so furious he comes back to life, determined to save his friend even if it costs him his life.
He thinks his friend will be too addled by corruption to recognize him and will treat him as an enemy. Instead, the man calls him "wife" and throws himself into his arms.
? You think of your best friend as your wife?
A few things to know before reading:
1. Childhood friends become a surprise pairing, with pure love and cuddles!
2. Multiple pairings! Multiple pairings! Multiple pairings! Both protagonists are male in their original forms, but their genders, orientations, and positions vary within each instance. If that bothers you, please don't read. (Palms together)
3. The author likes all sorts of pairings. There may be plenty of flirting between side characters, including BL, BG, GL, or even GB. Other than the protagonists' pure-love, one-on-one childhood-friends romance with an obvious mutual crush, side couples won't get any follow-up content. Ship whoever you like. If the story takes an unexpected turn, please don't blame the author.
4. A neurotic, lovesick black-and-white cat x a sunny golden retriever who always gets straight to the point. Two idiots fall in love and save each other.
Theme: Sincere love.
