How Long Will My Heart Keep Beating?

[A little famous, but not much: White moonlight photographer x top-tier star with lots of inner thoughts]

After graduating from university, Wen Jiayu became a photographer. Thanks to her photography skills and looks, she built up a following online.

During one livestream, Wen Jiayu happened to play a song by top-tier singer Jian Sen. The chat went wild, while Wen Jiayu sat quietly to one side, gazing at the screen.

It was the first time she had heard one of Jian Sen's songs.

Her former high school classmate had become a dazzling superstar, separated from her by a sea of people.

Wen Jiayu was filled with emotion, but never expected to get in touch with Jian Sen again.

Jian Sen's Christmas concert was coming up, but Wen Jiayu failed to get tickets.

She asked everyone in her social circle and got the same response: Who on earth managed to get tickets to Jian Sen's concert?!

The next day, while browsing online, she happened to see a promotional account giving away tickets to Jian Sen's concert. Figuring she might as well try, Wen Jiayu reposted the giveaway.

Naturally... she didn't win.

The following day, Jian Sen's fans flooded Wen Jiayu's DMs.

Friend: [Are you crazy? You used your main account to publicly fangirl over him!!!]

Wen Jiayu: [?]

#What's it like to forget to switch accounts and die of embarrassment while fangirling? #

That evening, Wen Jiayu got a call from the superstar.

"Ms. Wen? Can we talk about something?"

"How about a concert ticket in exchange for a photo?"

Jian Sen rose to fame at a young age with his song "How Long Does a Heartbeat Last." He swept up music awards and became a top-tier star in the spotlight.

A well-known musician in the industry once shared a few details about the song with fans. One evening in high school, Jian Sen had composed its melody on sheet music, matching the rhythm of his own heartbeat.

After hearing this, fans began to suspect there was more to the story.

The first time Wen Jiayu heard the song was during a livestream, when she asked for help with a dare. Through the screen, the man's voice sounded deep and rich.

"The sun shines so bright, and summer stretches on.

The wind echoes my heartbeat. Can you hear it?"

The second time she heard it was at Jian Sen's concert. That night, golden confetti mixed with osmanthus blossoms and drifted down like raindrops outside the venue.

A few hours earlier, the superstar had appeared before her amid flowers and glow sticks. Jian Sen looked at Wen Jiayu, his lashes lowered, and softly asked, "Did you hear it?"

"My heartbeat, thundering as it says I love you."
