After Giving Up on Winning Over the Obsessive Male Supporting Character

[I'm not happy with how this turned out, so I'm going to revise it extensively. I'll post the whole thing once it's ready, then update daily until it's finished. It will be completed by February next year at the latest.]

Fate came crashing down on Su Yezhen. While working, she was knocked unconscious by a falling package and mistakenly pulled by a System into a melodramatic novel.

In the original story, the heroine is treated as a stand-in for the male lead's white moonlight, and the two embark on a torturous romance. The second male lead saved her from drowning. After she cared for and accompanied him, he fell in love with her, only to find his feelings unreturned. He nearly killed the male lead, and the heroine died saving him.

Su Yezhen transmigrated into the cruel supporting female character, who abuses the second male lead and pushes the heroine into the water. In the end, the second male lead stabs her through the heart and sinks her into the lake.

The System requires her to win the second male lead over with love, preventing him from turning evil and causing a bad ending.

Su Yezhen, who has no saintly kindness in her: ?

System: Complete the mission and I'll send you back to your original world.

Su Yezhen: I can do this. I can act.

When she first meets Bai Qingqiu, he is lying on his side in a patch of reeds. His back is crisscrossed with whip marks, and the bloodstains on his white clothes stand out starkly against the pale, handsome face of the seventeen-year-old boy.

"Is this the second male lead who turns evil later?"

"He's way too handsome. What a waste not to make him the male lead."

System: "..."

Bai Qingqiu: "..."

From then on, Su Yezhen does everything she can to lower his corruption level and raise his affection for her.

Since others have already paved the way, she follows the original heroine's example and sets out to win him over.

But as someone who once abused him, Su Yezhen can't get Bai Qingqiu to accept her kindness.

She gives him food, and he feeds it to the cat.

She gives him her calligraphy, and he returns it.

She gives him clothes, and he never wears them.

Su Yezhen: What am I doing wrong?

After a month of trying: "Turn evil! Destroy everything! I'm done!"

She ignores the System's warnings and gives up.

Just then, the System speaks.

"Beep! Host's affection level in Bai Qingqiu's heart has risen to 50%."

Bai Qingqiu panics when he sees Su Yezhen's farewell letter on the table.

He knows that the Su Yezhen here comes from a different world. Once she completes her mission, she'll leave him.

But she hasn't completed it yet. Why is she still leaving?

The original heroine is reborn and remembers how the crown prince treated her as a stand-in for his white moonlight, and how she ultimately died protecting him.

In this new life, she wants to choose the person who saved her, the obsessive young man who loved her but could never have her: Bai Qingqiu.

But she soon discovers that Bai Qingqiu is cold and indifferent toward her.

Meanwhile, the woman who once abused him, pushed her into the water, and nearly caused her to lose her virtue is close to him.

Once, when the two of them argued, she went to confront the woman on his behalf, only to be met with the young man's cold gaze.

And words that left no room for anyone else to interfere.

"She got mad at me. What does that have to do with you?"

Note:

1. The original heroine has a harem-attracting aura.

2. The original second male lead is the male lead of this novel. Later, a System malfunction will restore his memories from his previous life.

3. The transmigrated heroine is cold and distant, and is perfunctory toward her target at first.

4. I started writing this for fun. If you're not having fun, run!

Theme: When you meet love, be brave and pursue it.
