Subdue the Realm

Cool and proper x unruly and restrained Noble clan x imperial power * Everyone in the empire thought the current emperor and the head of the Gu clan were at each other's throats. But only Shen Xingzhi knew that years ago, in that cold, gloomy palace, the only person who had reached out to him was a young man in white. * The thirteenth year of the Jinshun era. The struggle between the Crown Prince's faction and the Third Prince's faction grew increasingly fierce. The Gu clan, one of the empire's most powerful noble families, was dragged into the conflict and surrounded by danger. As the next heir to the Gu clan, Gu Jue sought a way out on the edge of an abyss. When he first met the Fourth Prince, the boy was covered in wounds, yet his dark eyes were unusually bright. He thought: Better to offer help in a time of need than to add flowers to brocade. I'll make this future ruler so dependent on the Gu clan that he has no choice but to rely on us. Who could have known he had misjudged the boy, and himself? *Little scene: Shen Xingzhi, now emperor, sat high on the throne, his face cold as he watched the officials below. Minister of Rites: Your Majesty, the imperial harem has been empty for a long time. We urge you to appoint an empress soon. Minister of Personnel: I support the proposal. Minister of XX: I support the proposal. The nth official: I support the proposal. The emperor's face grew darker and darker. The officials below, cowed by his authority, fell silent and looked in unison at Gu Jue, standing straight as a pine tree at the front left. Whenever the emperor had stubbornly refused to budge in the past, Minister Gu had always managed to turn things around. Surely this time... Gu Jue: Your Majesty's family matters are not for me to interfere in. He raised his eyes to the emperor, meeting his dark gaze. This was his only selfish wish. P.S. One-on-one romance, happy ending. Theme: Join hands with you and rule the world together
