When a Survival Show Trainee Gets a Barrage System

There was a question on Zhihu: If you could see the future, what could you do?

Luo Huaiqing: Thanks for the invite. I didn't do anything particularly impressive.

I merely broke the production team's monopoly on the only interpretation of events through editing, and rescued a talented younger guy who'd been buried by malicious post-production editing;

Dumped the awful company that wanted to sell my debut spot and squeeze every last bit of value out of me;

Gone from an unknown nobody to debuting in a top position;

And single-handedly created the final debut lineup of A Crown for You~

Thanks to my on-screen comment System!

To this day, the production team of A Crown for Me still thinks they manipulated the final seven into debuting as a group. Little do they know, the best hunters always appear as prey.

My new novel, By Heaven's Mandate, is being serialized:

Everyone knows that the useless Prince Liang, a member of the imperial clan, has a son reputed to be an immortal child reborn, who can read a person's fortune just by looking at them.

When the boy comes of age, the Empress herself presides over his coming-of-age ceremony, appoints him Court Astrologer, and showers him with favor. Every member of the imperial clan envies him.

Everyone envies Cui Lesui's eyes, but no one thinks of the saying: "A man with a treasure is guilty of possessing it."

No one knows that those eyes caused his family to be destroyed when he was four, leaving him to survive alone; that he was exiled to the mountains at sixteen and watched every day; that they dragged him into the struggle for the throne, with no way to escape.

No one knows that throughout his life, he has never been master of his own fate.

Only after seeing the character of the candidates for the Eastern Palace did Lesui finally understand that anyone used as a tool will eventually be discarded.

Enduring and evading would never bring him a happy ending. Only resistance could defeat this cruelly manipulated fate.

So, under the name of a disciple of the Old Lord,

Cui Lesui saves the Prince Pu, whose regime is on the brink of collapse, and balances three factions with a single prophecy;

He pretends to deliver a heavenly decree to drive away the Menxia Zhongshu, beheads dozens of foolish officials, and stabilizes a court beset by internal and external crises;

Amid a devastating flood, he conjures an ancient portent and calms a million refugees;

Until at last, he rules all under Heaven and ascends the throne.

A poem of the age goes:

At dawn, Court Astrologer; at dusk, seated in the emperor's hall.

Theme: Take your fate into your own hands
