Lin Ning is a high school senior about to take the college entrance exams. With excellent grades and a place at the top of her class, she works hard every day for a better future, giving up all her free time so she can get a higher score on the exams.
But on the day of the test, fate plays a cruel joke on her. Fully prepared and brimming with confidence, Lin Ning is on her way to the exam hall when a car runs over her, crushing her body and her youth beneath its tires.
As she looks at the blood spreading across the ground and the crowd gathering around her, all she can do is close her eyes helplessly, no matter how much regret and resentment she feels.
She thought she would die in such a ridiculous way, but fate had a twist in store for her.
On a filthy street in a slum, Lin Ning opens her eyes again.
In this awful world, where demons run rampant, strength is everything, and everyone around her seems completely unhinged, the first person she meets stands out as especially normal and adorable: a blond boy who beams with delight just because he found a slightly clean slice of toast.
Determined to treasure this rare, normal child, she takes care of him in every way and struggles to survive alongside him on these hellish streets.
Until one day, he suddenly tells her:
He wants to be her dog.
Only then does she realize that the child she had always thought was normal is actually the craziest of them all.
