The Concubine's Daily Climb to the Top

Please add my upcoming novel next door, The Consort's Everyday Promotion, to your library! The blurb is at the bottom.

[My completed novel in my profile: The Buddhist Consort's Easygoing Days]

This novel's blurb:

The consorts used to be terribly frustrated by Emperor Shouyuan's habit of rarely visiting the harem. Each of them used every trick in the book, hoping to win even a glance from the emperor.

But when one day the emperor really did start visiting the harem, they all bit their handkerchiefs in unison: He goes to the same woman's palace every single day. He might as well have stayed away!

When the former palace maid Wei Rui first appeared, they paid her no mind. She was just a nobody without even a title. But when the emperor stopped visiting the harem for months, the consorts realized it was too late, and bitterly regretted not acting sooner.

--

The first time Emperor Shouyuan saw Wei Rui, he thought that though she was beautiful, there was unfathomable bitterness hidden in her eyes. He scoffed at the sight. She was just another woman with honeyed words and a heart of treachery. He would never fall for her tricks.

But as this woman appeared before him time and again, sometimes injured, sometimes stubborn, sometimes beaming with joy, Emperor Shouyuan finally realized that the heart is never governed by reason.

Upcoming novel: The Consort's Everyday Promotion

The year Shen Qinghe entered the palace, the emperor already had an empress who had risen to prominence, a consort whose favor filled the six palaces, and Lady Gao, who was in the emperor's good graces.

She had neither a prestigious family nor allies in the harem,

but she was determined to carve out her own path to advancement in the palace.

-

Emperor Jianzhao met a woman in the rain. Her skin was as smooth as ice and jade. She stumbled into his arms in a panic, her eyes misty and alluring. From that day on, the palace had a new favorite consort.
