My other novel, "After My Husband Lost His Memory," is now available. If you're interested, check it out on my profile.
Male lead's story:
Qin Si, the eldest young master of the Qin family, was a man of exceptional talent and ambition. He entered court at thirteen and stirred up a storm wherever he went. The great clans were gradually gaining power over the imperial throne, and the Qin family rose to become the foremost among them.
It was said that the head of the Qin family had no interest in women. So when he returned from a southern inspection tour one day with a beautiful woman, the capital was in an uproar. Rumors of an affair between her and the head of the Qin family spread throughout the city.
Someone claimed to have heard from the head of the Qin family himself that the highest status this woman could hope for was that of a favored concubine. Everyone immediately relaxed, and began making their own plans.
Female lead's story: The princess of the Yu Kingdom was once peerlessly beautiful, but fate left her the daughter of a merchant in a small town.
Lowborn, she had her fiance stolen by her legitimate younger sister, then was sold by her father to a dying man. She became a widow the very next day and was left to suffer in her husband's family, unable to escape until her death.
Reborn into a new life, she refused to believe in fate.
Those who bullied and humiliated her, she repaid in kind.
With nothing to lose, her ferocity frightened many people away. But one man kept pursuing her, coercing her, and trying to make her his.
He was only after her beauty, and she wanted nothing but to get away from him. But he used the thing she cared about most to force her hand.
Fine! Then this humble girl will take you on.
The human heart is hard to control. Though she had fallen for him, she was able to pull herself away in time and leave without looking back. But the day after she left, the mystery of her birth was revealed. The Crown Prince faked his death, and before long she was named Crown Princess. She went on to rule the land, becoming the Yu Kingdom's first empress.
She wielded her power boldly, balancing the influence of the great clans until imperial authority reached its peak. Under her leadership, the Yu Kingdom prospered, and she became a formidable ruler with power over all under heaven.
Even he could only look up to her.
Qin Si: A Yao, do you still want me?
Reader's guide: The story is entirely fictional, with no basis in real history. Please don't overanalyze it. The leads are each other's only partners from beginning to end.
The male lead will have to win back his wife after losing her. (This happens in the middle-to-late portion.)
Content warning: The female lead grows over time. Don't expect the kind of instant gratification you might be looking for at the start. The story is slow to heat up.

The cover uses my previous pen name, which I haven't changed yet.
My next novel will be "After My Husband Lost His Memory." If you're interested, check it out on my profile.
A Jiu of the Han family was bought by the Gu family as a child bride. She and A Mo of the Gu family grew up together and loved each other deeply.
While A Mo studied by lamplight, A Jiu mended clothes. While A Mo studied at school, A Jiu worked in the fields and sold things at the market, saving up for his tuition.
A Mo said that once he passed the highest imperial examination, he would give her fine clothes and a household full of servants.
A Jiu said she didn't need any of that. All she wanted was for him to treat her sincerely and grow old with her.
But one day, A Mo went to school as usual and never came back. A Jiu wept until she was exhausted, but had no choice but to stay strong and care for her parents-in-law.
Long afterward, A Mo returned, wearing an official's hat and riding a fine horse, but with a lovely wife at his side and a child in his arms.
A Mo brought them to a residence in Chang'an bestowed by the emperor, where they were waited on by servants and given fine clothes and splendid comforts.
But she was miserable. A Mo didn't remember her!
A Mo's child was as beautiful as a jade carving, and A Mo's wife came from a respectable family and was a perfect match for him.
She was just an outsider, perhaps even a burden A Mo felt responsible for. But she was his wife, the one who had married him.
He treated her with utter indifference, as if she were no more than a plant or tree in the estate. All his tenderness went to his new wife and child.
She knew this could never truly be her home, so she planned to slip away quietly.
But then something happened to A Mo's child.
She was dragged before the hall.
A Mo's new wife accused her of harming their child.
She hadn't done anything at all. She hoped A Mo would trust her as he always had.
But it was only wishful thinking.
In an icy voice, he said, "For the sake of what we once shared, I'll spare your life. Leave on your own."
Her heart shattered. Looking at the man she had once loved, she could only think of him as someone who had died long ago.
She returned to Qingshan Village and married someone else.
On the day of her wedding, A Mo remembered everything, but it was too late.
Under the wedding canopy, she was another man's wife, and he was another woman's husband.
A Mo was overcome with pain. How could he have forgotten her? How could he?
He spent his days in a daze, watching her live in harmony with her new husband, consumed by regret.
A Jiu, can you still forgive me?
A story of a husband trying to win his wife back after losing her.
Content warning: The leads are both virgins, and this is a one-on-one romance. The second male lead ends up with the female lead.

Theme: Survive even in adversity
I finally had a backer, and it went surprisingly smoothly.
This level of liking was indeed inappropriate in ancient times~
Isn't the Prince's Mansion usually the East Palace? Haha
I guess my younger brother is not Han's child, right?
It's okay, it looks good if it's a bit subtle! (=^▽^=)
No, even if he is not the male protagonist, can't the Emperor see that the female protagonist doesn't like Xu? How could such an edict be issued? Isn't this disrespectful to my daughter? -_-||
Is the heroine really going to marry someone named Xu? -_-||
Can you see Mother Qin's dumbfounded look in the next chapter? (=^▽^=)
When will the Qin family, including the male protagonist, know the true identity of the female protagonist?
