Did the NPC Change Gender Today?

Zhaoye, a former combat-focused Saniwa of the Tianyu faction, is short but can both fight and heal. After retiring, he goes into seclusion in Yokohama, spending every day wondering how to make enough money to support all the sword spirits at his Honmaru.

The large-scale, open-world exploration game "Greed Island" has officially entered public beta. Supposedly, all the NPCs are handsome men and beautiful women.

The game promises that the first player to clear it will win a prize of up to 200 million yen, along with a reward that lets in-game items become real.

For the sake of money and a little extra height, Zhaoye, who always gets bad endings in games, jumps right in.

A white-haired, blue-eyed, blindfold-wearing teacher who calls herself an invincible beauty and the strongest jujutsu sorcerer;

The black-robed female leader of the mysterious Pan Star Religious Group, with a pair of foxlike eyes;

A brown-haired, golden-eyed, spiky-haired good-for-nothing JK, aloof and taciturn, yet prone to tripping on flat ground;

A cheerful, energetic, athletic girl with pink hair in a ponytail, good at every sport;

The most beautiful sword in the world, peerlessly elegant, with a crescent moon in her eyes;

...Wait, isn't that last one a gender-swapped version of one of the swords in his own Honmaru?

As he plays through the game, Zhaoye gradually discovers a shocking, terrifying truth.

The NPCs who have somehow become head over heels for him are not only played by real people, they also show up in his everyday life. More importantly...

- They're all men!

Physically and emotionally exhausted, Zhaoye: "Thanks. I'm packing my bags tonight and getting out of this city. :)"

Reader's Guide:

A silly, anything-goes comedy.

Gender-swapped in the game, unchanged in real life.
