At twenty-two, Akutagawa Ryunosuke is a great author with a literary prize named after him, as well as the captain of the Special Investigation Group's Second Squad.
During an operation to capture a space-wielding ability user whose powers had gone out of control, he was unfortunately caught in the crossfire and thrown alone into a world that was both familiar and strange.
The frail, often-ill Professor Akutagawa stood on a street corner, thought for a second, then decisively activated his ability. The next moment, a young man who looked like him but had an entirely different air appeared.
"Ryu, we've ended up in another world."
"Mm."
"We have no money."
"Mm."
"I'm hungry."
"..."
"And I didn't bring my medicine."
"I brought medicine. I'll take you to get something to eat first, then go earn some money."
"Okay."
Professor Akutagawa thought he only had to let Ryu look after him until his teammates found a way to bring him home. But he never imagined that ability user had such staying power. They could jump not only through space, but through time as well!
And so he was forced to meet this world's Doctor Mori, Senior Chuuya, his teammate Dazai, and all sorts of yokai and gods he had never even seen before.
"Ryu, why haven't they come to get me yet?"
Surrounded by all kinds of romantic rivalries, Professor Akutagawa stood firm and hugged his own ability manifestation.
PS:
1. This Akutagawa is from another world. His original world also has all the characters from Bungo Stray Dogs, and it has abilities too, but no Three-Way Deadlock. Some abilities are different as well, so you can think of it as a parallel world.
2. The world he transmigrates into is not the original Bungo Stray Dogs world, but a crossover world. So far, it includes Natsume, Bungo Stray Dogs, Katekyo Hitman Reborn!, and Bleach, though some series feature more prominently than others.
3. Akutagawa has no siblings. Ryu is his ability.
4. This is a cherished-by-everyone story and a selfcest novel, with lots of original settings. It's just meant to be fun, so readers who like strict canon should proceed with caution.
