Heroine [Republican Era]

"My thoughts are sent to the cold stars, yet they go unheeded. I offer my blood for Xuanyuan." Mr. Lu Xun Jiang Chenyue once had another name: Chengyue. Chengyue, Chengyue, as the name suggests, meant pleasing others. Her father was a nobleman of the former Qing dynasty, while her mother was merely one of his concubines. Jiang Chenyue grew up in her mother's family. Her maternal grandfather ran a martial arts school. Jiang Chenyue had an extraordinary physique, and her grandfather once said she was a perfect candidate for martial arts. But her mother told her that a girl should be chaste, quiet, virtuous, and gentle. Only then could she win the affection of her father and the world around her. Through her mother's tears, Jiang Chengyue molded herself into a "virtuous and refined" "noble lady." She even nearly had her feet bound. Then the previous dynasty fell and her grandfather died. She and her mother went to seek refuge with her father. Jiang Chengyue was married off, only to discover that her husband was an idiot. Her mother died of depression, in the very household she had always longed to enter. And on a snowy night, Jiang Chengyue met a tragic end at her husband's family home. For the next ten years, her spirit wandered the world. She saw famine everywhere, a nation in turmoil, and the cruelest things this world had to offer... Then she opened her eyes again and returned to the year she was fifteen. That year, she was supposed to follow her mother and seek refuge with her father's family. But this time, Jiang Chenyue wanted to choose another path: Before becoming a proper woman, she wanted to be a real person. Reader's Notes: 1. An alternate-history Republican-era setting, with many personal liberties taken. Please don't nitpick historical accuracy. 2. There is a male lead. No choosing sides. 3. The story begins with her being reborn. Theme: Strive for the motherland.
