She transmigrates into the role of a mortal princess in a cultivation novel, but her mission is to save the strongest person on the righteous side.
Mu Chengxue's mission is to take Li Chaocheng's place and be sealed inside the Ten Thousand Demon Pit.
Mu Chengxue stubbornly follows Li Chaocheng around, telling him like a fortune-teller, "A disaster is in your fate. Only I can save you."
Li Chaocheng gives her a cold smile. "Following me is dangerous. You could die."
Mu Chengxue pats her chest and grins. "That's fine. If danger comes, I'll protect you."
Li Chaocheng: Follow me, and you'll die.
Mu Chengxue: I don't care. I'm following you.
Days pass, and at last they reach the teleportation array plot. At the critical moment, Mu Chengxue shoves Li Chaocheng out of the array's range, but a demon drags her off balance.
At last, covered in blood, Mu Chengxue smiles as she says goodbye to Li Chaocheng. "See? Only I can save you."
The proud genius who had never once looked her in the eye finally shows a panicked expression.
"No!"

"If danger comes, I'll protect you."
Mu Chengxue has said this many times. Li Chaocheng scoffed and never took her words to heart.
But Mu Chengxue really did it.
As those terrifying demons drag Mu Chengxue away, Li Chaocheng uses every ounce of his strength, but still can't pull her back. All he can do is watch as she's dragged into the Ten Thousand Demon Pit.
The teleportation array had been meant for him.
Li Chaocheng enters the demon realm and slaughters his way across it for three months, but he still can't find Mu Chengxue. Everyone urges him to give up.
"The dead can't come back to life. She's a mortal who fell into the Ten Thousand Demon Pit. There won't even be bones left."
Li Chaocheng: "I can find her soul and help her take over another body."

Back in the Ten Directions Universe, Mu Chengxue has barely sat down when her boss throws her back into the small world.
"Li Chaocheng is showing signs of turning dark because of you. You caused this mess, so fix it yourself."
Mu Chengxue: Fine.
When she sees Li Chaocheng again, he is standing atop heaps of corpses, the long sword in his hand dripping with crimson blood.
At the sight of Mu Chengxue, Li Chaocheng's numb expression finally shifts.
Golden-thread-like spiritual power binds Mu Chengxue's soul tightly. Li Chaocheng traces her face with his hand. "I've finally found you, my princess."
