A nasty, arrogant prince gong x a stiff, honest tutor shou
Also known as: After Being Tricked in an Online Romance, He Was Chased Through Hell and Back (Ancient Edition)
The shou is a prince's tutor, born in the countryside. He's timid and rigid, unwilling to adapt, and disliked by both his colleagues and the princes.
The fifth prince gong dislikes him most of all. They're always at odds, and the gong can't wait to get rid of him.
Then one night, he finds the shou's poem on a red leaf in the imperial river. He realizes that this lifeless tutor actually harbors a heart yearning for romance.
At once, he comes up with the most brilliant revenge plan.
A poem the shou wrote on a red leaf in a moment of sorrow unexpectedly receives a reply.
The other person is eloquent and perceptive, and, more importantly, understands him. They exchange poems on red leaves, sharing their feelings back and forth. Just as expected, the shou falls deeper and deeper, until he can't imagine being with anyone else.
He gathers all the courage he has and asks to meet. At their rendezvous, someone covers his eyes with a strip of black silk.
For the first time, the usually restrained and proper shou crosses the line. Then he does it again, and again...
Until he unexpectedly discovers that the mysterious man who's been at his side nearly every day, whispering sweet nothings, is the very gong who's always targeted him and disliked him intensely.
The shou gives up completely and flees in a panic.
But the usually nasty, arrogant gong follows him home, wraps his arms around him, his eyes red at the corners, and refuses to let go.
