Jiang Rou discovers that she is a cannon-fodder character in a xianxia novel. According to the original plot, after the male lead, an Immortal Venerable, glances at her once, the female rival scatters her ashes.
Now, just as the story is about to reach that plot point, Jiang Rou unexpectedly obtains a blind-box System.
The System tells her that as long as she gets close to the male lead, she can earn blind-box rewards: random draws for immortal treasures, charm, a golden finger, cultivation, money, and even hidden-variant magical artifacts...
Jiang Rou: "But if I get close to the male lead, the female rival will kill me!"
System: "As long as you get close to the male lead, the task counts as complete even if he hates you."

The Immortal Venerable hates sycophants, so she flatters him at every turn. He dislikes slackers, so she slacks off at everything.
But why does his gaze keep getting more and more doting?
