The continent of Vald is inhabited only by nonhumans.
The royal family’s young heirs keep dying one after another, and with no successor in sight, the priests of every race gather at the Temple of Life: winged folk, octopus monsters, spider spirits, flower sprites, ghosts, dragons, and more.
The Goddess of Life sends down a miracle, summoning a group of two-legged beasts from another world who give off an irresistible fragrance. The spirit priests ponder: They look delicious.
Wen Yan opens his eyes, and his sanity meter plummets. A circle of heads surrounds him, each atop a humanlike torso with eight octopus tentacles for a lower half.
Have aliens invaded Earth?!
The octopus priest really wants to take a bite out of Wen Yan, but he has more important business to attend to. He presents an egg and says respectfully, "Please, sir, save my royal bloodline."
Wen Yan: "You’ve got to be... asking the wrong person. I’m not a mother octopus!"
Though he has no idea how to incubate an egg, the octopus monster watches him every day, so he doesn’t dare slack off. He cradles the octopus egg diligently and gives it prenatal education, which mostly consists of rambling.
"I wonder if having eight tentacles makes you all thumbs."
"Why aren’t you coming out yet? I’ve been waiting so long the flowers have wilted."
The octopus priest watches from afar, nodding with satisfaction. His efforts to keep his people from devouring the two-legged beast have not been in vain.
One quiet night, the little octopus hatches, finds Wen Yan’s chest, and latches on with a suck. "So fragrant, so tasty," it coos.
Wen Yan wakes with a start. "Damn, bro, you’re hurting me! And I really am not a mother octopus!"
But when Wen Yan sees the milk flowing from his own body, he falls silent...
Did even his body’s anatomy change after he transmigrated to another world?!
The little octopus grows at an astonishing rate. A few years later, Wen Yan has gone from being a daddy to an octopus queen. Looking at the enormous octopus king in his arms, he can only sigh helplessly. "Haven’t you been weaned yet? Though, to be fair, tentacle monsters really are sexy."
