I Just Want to Find a Normal Person

Because I grew up suffering at the hands of the unreliable adults in my family, and after I grew up, studied, and started working, all the people around me were a pile of lunatics poisoning one another, I resolved to find a normal person someday and return to an ordinary life. So I eagerly began looking around for normal people. At first glance, there were plenty who seemed to fit the bill. Normal Person No. 1: A man who dreamed of becoming a novelist and planned to buy a house by the sea someday. Honestly, I fell for him on the spot. But who could have guessed this normal guy had five kids at such a young age! As soon as I learned the truth, I got cold feet and moved on to the next candidate. Normal Person No. 2: A beautiful military officer with a strong sense of justice. Aside from her unusual tastes, there was nothing wrong with her. I fell for her immediately and sprang into action, only to discover on the day I confessed that this beautiful officer hadn't understood what I meant at all! What?! Just then, the sworn enemy who'd been at each other's throats with me since kindergarten popped up and told me to consider him instead. That's when I realized the beautiful officer had been unmoved by my advances because he was the one sabotaging me! Damn it! I was instantly furious and started wrestling with my sworn enemy. Even with me choking him, he managed to say, just before he was about to die, in an absurdly refined tone: Sometimes love is a shy flower that needs time to bloom.* Silence is golden. At that, my brow furrowed so hard it could have crushed several flies. I didn't ease up, and practically snarled, "To hell with love! Is that your excuse for standing in the way of my ordinary, beautiful future?!" Later, I reconsidered. This man, who was even worse than an ordinary person, could probably, maybe, count as normal? Poor, poor sworn enemy - As for "making the person you like your own," that's perfectly normal, isn't it? Of course it is. *Quoted Left here on November 20, 2021 Theme: Hold on to me
