The Side Character in a Period Novel Won't Follow the Plot

Tian Tang unexpectedly learns the plot of a novel and discovers that she is a cannon-fodder character destined to give the heroine a golden finger. Her parents both have jobs, and the family is well-off. They used their connections to arrange a job for her early on, but to keep her cousin Tian Ying from being sent to the countryside, Tian Tang made a huge fuss and handed her job over to her. With no other choice, her mother quit her own job early and gave it to Tian Tang. They both started working at the factory. Her cousin was kind and generous, quickly making friends with everyone, while Tian Tang cared about no one but her cousin. As a result, she was bullied at work. Tian Tang was devastated. And now that she had gained a will of her own, there was nothing she could do to change things: the two of them had already been at the factory for over a month, and all the incidents that would make her enemies had already happened. No wonder she was being bullied. It was all her cousin's fault. Luckily, there was one thing she hadn't had a chance to turn down: Ren Jiacheng. He had liked her at first, but Tian Tang had been led by her cousin to think he was an unreliable hooligan. After Tian Tang rejected him, her cousin shamelessly went to comfort Ren Jiacheng. Now that she knew the plot and what lay ahead for Ren Jiacheng, Tian Tang agreed to be with him. Instead of handing her cousin a golden finger, she might as well claim the biggest golden finger for herself. Theme: Work hard to build a better life
