Consort Tong Jia Yunyan had a very, very long nightmare.
In her dream, Yunyan lived in the world of a storybook.
She was merely a lovesick supporting woman, there to highlight the heroine's sweet and innocent nature. She devoted herself to her imperial cousin, the emperor Xuanye, and repeatedly harmed the heroine in her efforts to win his favor. In the end, her imperial cousin despised her and had her confined until she died. Her adopted son and those around her met miserable fates as well.
The Uya woman who had recently betrayed Yunyan and climbed into her bed was the heroine of this world.
Yunyan's wise and mighty imperial cousin went mad with love for Uya. For her sake, he fought his grandmother and dismissed his ministers, committing one foolish act after another.
After death, Yunyan's soul drifted through the palace harem. By chance, she overheard her sworn enemy privately making some shocking remarks about her, and at last she saw the light.
When Yunyan woke, she stopped competing and decided to lie flat.
Kangxi panicked.
Uya grew anxious.
Heavy with child, Yunyan watched Uya, who was engrossed in palace intrigue, and grew puzzled.
Uya, what are you doing? Didn't you say men were only good for passing the time? Didn't you say women who fought among themselves were fools?
Get to work!
You still haven't made those clear, transparent glass windows. And where's the baby carriage? My little prince is waiting to use it.
