[Next book: Burning Up, a raised wolf cub turns the tables, then an old flame rekindles]
This is a notebook of lessons in taming.
About how to conquer someone who is intensely proud.
When asked what kind of person Yi Zheng was, Ye Xiao said he was like a peacock seeking a mate all year round.
Beautiful, arrogant, flamboyant, and extremely dangerous.
Yi Zheng didn't just flirt. He made it an art, made it dazzling, and made it a glorious chapter for a new age.
“To discipline a fierce beast, there are two ways: show weakness, or defeat it.”
Someone asked, “Which one did you use?”
Ye Xiao blinked. “I used cuteness.”
Action-packed criminal investigation, HE, two powerful leads locked in a fierce tug-of-war
Occasional episodic cases, mainly a continuous main plot, set in a fictional world
A cheeky, sharp-tongued cop who is constantly flirting with unemployment, seems like a rookie but is actually a king among men (Ye Xiao) x A beautiful, aristocratic flirt who wears suits all year round, has perfect social skills, is extremely clever, and is far too proud (Yi Zheng)
The world of crime is a dark jungle. Every criminal is a lone wolf lurking in the depths, with fangs and claws, thinking themselves clever, yet hiding and fleeing.
Hunters are never at an advantage. They have only one life, one person, one gun.
But they have seen the world outside.
They know that beyond the jungle's dense canopy lies a cloudless sky stretching for miles. They know that following the narrow path will lead to the light. They believe that all the small, beautiful things in this world truly exist. They believe in the rising and setting sun, the ebb and flow of the tides. They believe there are four seasons in a year, three meals a day, and twenty-four hours in a day, and that the sun will rise on time.
So they become braver than ever.
“How brave does someone have to be to hold on for ten years?”
Many years later, on the training ground, a new recruit asked him what made a good police officer.
The kid still didn't know how to smoke. He was getting a little bored smoking alone, but he answered anyway.
“Afraid of dying most of the time, occasionally great, always believing.”
Theme: No one is born fearless. It is belief that makes people brave.
I haven't written a review for a long time, but after reading this article, I always felt that I had something to say, and I felt like there were thousands of words stuck in my heart, and my poor words could not describe even one tenth of what I was thinking. After much struggle, I still picked up the pen. After reading this novel all night, it was like watching a short and concise movie. The author's writing style is sophisticated and fluent. In just 370,000 words (compared to many criminal investigation articles), he outlines several full-dimensional characters and a case that lasted for more than ten years. The story begins with the police breaking in late at night and a photo. The calendar on the wall is fixed on a day in 2017 when he was charged with murdering a police officer. In the blink of an eye, a few years later, Ye Xiao and Yi Zheng met in a teahouse that seemed ordinary but had an undercurrent. These are the protagonists of the story, and they are the two people I find particularly charming throughout the story. Because the criminal investigation is suspected of being a spoiler, I won't go into too much detail, but the emotional back and forth between two adults, the tug and pull, is like 110,000 butterflies flying in your stomach. The two men and two other police officers from the 16th Squadron began investigating the organ trafficking group with a complete industrial chain and cruel methods again after a few years. From doubting each other and testing each other (mainly doubting Yi Zhenghhh), to later moving forward hand in hand, the four people gave up trust, blood, tears, and countless trials and errors. As the writing progresses, a person appears—Xu Xing. He makes my chest feel heavy just thinking about it now. I don't know how to describe him, whether he is a silent lone brave man or a young dragon-slaying boy who finally fell into the abyss. He is the person in the photo at the beginning of the article, and he seems far away from me throughout the article. He drifted away from the bustling crowd, living in the memories that Ye Xiao could not express. How to judge a person's right and wrong seems to be an eternal topic of mankind, just like the young man who bravely slays the dragon but eventually falls into the abyss, and Xu Xing has such charm. After reading the entire article, I couldn't blame him harshly, and even felt infinite regret in my heart. I feel sorry for that young man, and I feel sorry for the ten years that no one knows about. A certain villain in the article once said to Ye Xiao: "You were the last person who was good to Xu Xing, ten years ago. You were also the first person who was good to Yi Zheng, ten years later." So Xu Xing also loved Ye Xiao in the end, just like Yi Zheng loved Ye Xiao. I can't help but compare Xu Xing and Yi Zheng, and even unrealistically imagine whether the ending of the story would be different if Xu Xing always had Ye Xiao by his side. Later I felt that I was ridiculous. Because of this, Xu Xing became Xu Xing and Yi Zheng became Yi Zheng. Speaking of Ye Xiao, a person of flesh and blood. I will think of his loneliness and suffering when he is alone in keeping secrets, of his fear of death when he reopens old cases, of his decades-long belief in Xu Xing, and of his reliability when he gently says to Yi Zheng, "Trust me, let me save you." After thinking about it, I finally landed on two scenes. One is when Yi Zheng opens the public student ID card that fell to the ground in Ye Xiao's office - it has Xu Xing's name and photo, but no official seal; the other is when everything is settled, Ye Xiao lies on the beach with Yi Zheng in his arms, not saying a few words, just hugging each other quietly. These are the two most thrilling scenes even though they are the least worth mentioning in the whole text, but I just remember them. Ye Xiao is sincere to his friends and lovers. There are many characters in the article, ordinary, common, and some even remain nameless until their death. Some of them were killed, some were framed, some were impoverished, and some were glamorous. They are an indispensable part of the whole story. They hold the protagonist with one hand and hold back the evil with the other. There are also a pair of sub-CPs in the full text, which involve spoilers, so I won't say more. But they are also two very charming people. Speaking of which, Xu Xing has never been to the public security bureau and is not a real police officer because his father is a drug addict and could not pass the political review. Several times in the article, Xu Xing is described as observing Yi Zheng, just watching quietly. I wonder what on earth is Xu Xing thinking when he looks at Yi Zheng? It's a very subjective idea. I don't want to speculate on Xu Xing, just like I don't want to evaluate him in a few words. At the end of the story, in that sunset, Xu Xing looked past Yi Zheng for the last time and looked at the police station that he had never entered before and could never enter again. After reading the full text, I felt passionate, and after I calmed down, I felt full of energy. I wrote a lot of words that didn't convey my meaning, but the last thing I wanted to say was still a few sentences. Although ordinary, still great. Pay tribute.
Four swipes to punch in~~ I really, really like the teacher's writing. (Come and type my first comment) From character movements to scene transitions, from psychological portrayal to environmental enhancement, the teacher's skills are truly incredible. Click on any chapter at random and you will read a description that touches your heart. Whether it's the sound of fabric rubbing against skin, the few sentences describing Xu Xing's mother's eyes, or Ye Yi's interactions at the training ground, bar, beach, etc., They are all very natural and smooth. It feels like such details are something you would really notice and make sense if you put yourself in that scene. Moreover, there is no deliberate emphasis on the abruptness of the writing style, nor is it a forced description in order to pursue the so-called "feeling" of the characters and plot. To give a random example: Yi Zheng's clean and pure smile in the bar is written together with the "meaningless excitement" of the neon lights in the bar. It's hard to say that it's appropriate. It seems that the purpose is not to write about Yi Zheng emerging from the mud, but more like creating an "inner world" between Ye and Yi, the kind that is too beautiful to be true. Anyway, I can never think of a more suitable way to write it. After reading it, I must sing "I love it so much" over and over again. In terms of material selection, as far as the novels I read are concerned, the topic chosen by the teacher is quite rare in criminal investigation literature. But the phrase "the most desperate people are connected to both ends of this industrial chain" really shows how bloody this industrial chain is. (I don't know if this is similar to the teacher's experience in Sri Lanka. I also have real things to see and experience... The little boy from Pi Bao Fruit Company is really...) As for the characters, I will simply talk about my own feelings. In fact, when I read it for the first time, I didn't get Yi Zheng's character at all, and I didn't understand Ye Yi's emotional line and Xu Xing's choices, and felt baffled. But when I read it for the second and third time, when I really put myself into their characters, their perspectives, and the background environment in which they made their choices, I found that the direction of each plot was extremely reasonable, and each character's choice was based on their own personality. In short, it is not empty at all. The more I read, the more I like it. Continue to look forward to the teacher's next book. Finally, I wish the teacher can always write the stories he wants to write~
I really like the author's understanding of the relationship between Xu Xing and Yi Zheng and Ye Xiao. Compared with love, the three people have a sense of sympathy for each other, so in the end, Ye Xiao and Yizheng did not have to find Xu Xing, and Xu Xing also listened to the words of the two and started a new life. I really like the blank space in the ending of Xu Xing. It seems that facing life positively again and being confused and lost are not suitable for him. Let him become a shadow from beginning to end, and he will understand where he is going in the end.
I really like Duoyan Daanda's writing. I really like it. It's the kind of surprise with a little panic, and panic with a little joy. I really like it. But Xu Xing is really hard to get over. After being undercover for ten years, he ended up like this. In the end, he failed to become the policeman he wanted, and he failed to get the person he wanted.
This is an article that I have been paying attention to since I was about to be born. I have been reluctant to read it until now. Teacher MM's writing style is still unique, funny, realistic, depressing, and full of hope. I believe that Xu Xing will start a new life in the spring. He will walk into the crowd, into the light, and into a place where someone can see him. I also believe that Ye Xiao and Yi Zheng, Shen Yiru and Luo Feng, they will love each other deeply and go on together.
My Xu Xing is about to start a life that truly belongs to him, right?
Shen Xing is really a good son of the author. I hope he will be well in the future.
Ahhhhh I thought Xu Xing could have a side story~
Three times, I still like it so much, Ye Xiaoyi is about to fall in love in a parallel world
I still like the story and writing style. But it's a bit confusing to see. For example, Xueshan was in the orphanage at the same time as Song Shubin. Dr. Song should be in his 40s. No matter how big Xueshan is, he is only in his teens. I remember some places mentioned it was in the 50s or 60s, but after I was arrested, it was close to 70s. Xu Xing has been undercover for ten years, and Gong's age is 28. So Gong should only have been a police officer for 6 years.
